The Vikings have the 3rd pick in the April draft but free agency will be the first opportunity to improve their team.  Team needs include tackle, guard, receiver, safety, cornerback and defensive tackle.  The crop of offensive lineman free agents isn't good but impact players like Vincent Jackson and Marques Colston are available at receiver.

Jackson is a player the Vikings pursued in a trade in 2010 before they settled for a bad trade with New England for Randy Moss.  Jackson won't likely be franchised by the Chargers allowing him to sign anywhere.  Jackson had 60 receptions for 1,106 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2011.  He is just 28 years old and is 6'5 230 pounds.  He would give the Vikings a deep threat.

Marques Colston is a 6'4 225 pound 28-year old who had 80 receptions for 1,143 yards and 8 touchdowns with the Saints in 2011.

Other likely available free agents include Steve Johnson (Buffalo), Robert Meacham (New Orleans), Reggie Wayne (Indianapolis) and Desean Jackson (Philadelphia).
