Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Raymond C. Forner, age 89, who died Saturday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Inurnment will be in the Parish Mausoleum.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:00 – 10:45a.m, Thursday at the St. Boniface Church Narthex.

Ray was born in Cold Spring to John and Gertrude (Dullinger) Forner. He married Lois Svihel on January 18, 1953 at St. Gabriel’s Church in San Francisco, California. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during WWII, and the Korean War. Ray retired from the Cold Spring Granite Company as the Quarry Manager after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing with Lois, hunting, wood carving, making fish spearing decoys, bird watching, and relocating squirrels. He loved to be with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife, Lois; children, John (Mary), Steve, Mike (Ann), David (Penny), Patty (Jeff) Knapek, Don (Lauren), Mary (Jim) O’Rourke, Rita (Peter) Schulte, Wendy (Dave) Skluzacek, Tim, and Amy (Ben) Thomas; 19 wonderful grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Viola Quist, and Martha Yanosh.

Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring, MN.
