Raymond E. Sabart, 92, Long Prairie

November 6, 1922 - May 28, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Long Prairie for Raymond E. “Bob” Sabart, age 92, of Long Prairie who passed away on Thursday at his home near Long Prairie. Rev. Omar Guanchez will officiate and burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Long Prairie. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm, Monday, June 1, 2015 and after 8 am Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home-Stein Chapel, Long Prairie. St. Mary’s Catholic Women will pray the rosary at 4pm and parish prayers at 7 pm at the funeral home on Monday.

Raymond E. Sabart was born November 6, 1922 near Grey Eagle, Minnesota, the son of William and Mary (Bluth) Sabart. He grew up on a farm near Gutches Grove. He married Elaine T. Curves on October 14, 1944 in Long Prairie, Minnesota. They farmed near Gutches Grove for many years. Raymond also worked for the Reynolds Co-op for several years.

Raymond was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Raymond had a very strong faith and lived his life in that faith. He always kept his machinery, property, and home very neat and everything had its place.

Raymond is survived by his son, Dennis (Patricia) Sabart, Eveleth, MN; special friend & sister-in-law, Valeria Lemke, Long Prairie; three grandsons, Randy (Viki) Sabart, Brian (Naomi) Sabart, and Gary (Chelsie) Sabart, four great-grandchildren, Luke, Peyton, Easton, and Kaelyn, brothers, Richard Sabart, Cook, MN; Billy (Sally) Sabart, Brainerd; and sister, Mary Jane Johnson, Duluth, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elaine, brothers, Lloyd, Ralph, Roger, and Harold, and sisters Margie Gross and infant sister, Mary.
