Raymond A. Schmitt, 84, Richmond

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Raymond A. Schmitt, age 84, who died Tuesday at Lakeview Ranch in Darwin, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning at the funeral home.

Ray was born in Cold Spring, MN to Frank and Crescentia (Drontle) Schmitt. He married Mary Ann Schneider on October 2, 1956 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Richmond, MN. Ray enjoyed farming, fishing, eating desserts and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, St. Gerard Mission Group and Catholic United Financial.

Survivors include his children, Tom (Kathy), Vern (Sheri), Bruce (Shirley), Lou Ann Adams, Denise (Scott) Wolfe, Dean (Amy Nelson-Crandall), Lori (Tim) Primus; siblings, Rich Schmitt, Celestine (Lenore) Schmitt, Theresa Ann Schreifels, Dolly (Urban) Schreifels, Norbert (Rosie) Schmitt, Betty (Melvin) Torborg; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; son, Randy; siblings, Sylvester, RoseMary, Pete and Francis.
