SAUK RAPIDS - The city of Sauk Rapids is dealing with some raw sewage leaking into the Mississippi River.

Mayor Dave Saunders says they had a break of a pipe at their lift station at about 2:00 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning.  The break is near the Southside Park just below the new Sauk Rapids Bridge.

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has been contacted.  The high water volume on the river is helping to dilute the raw sewage, and it's not believed to be causing a health risk to area residents.
