Rangers Edge Twins 4-3 To Complete Sweep
The Twins lost 4-3 at home to the Texas Rangers Sunday afternoon. The Rangers complete the 3-game sweep and send the Twins to a American League worst 2-7. Minnesota led until the 8th inning when Josh Hamilton hit a 2-run homerun off Twins' reliever Glen Perkins. Perkins allowed 2 hits and 3 earned runs without recording an out for the Twins. Newly acquired outfielder Clete Thomas hit a 2-run homerun in his Twins debut.
Jamey Carroll and Denard Span each had 2 hits and Liam Hendriks threw 6 innings with 7 hits and 1 earned run but didn't figure in the final decision. Former Twins, Joe Nathan threw a scoreless 9th inning to get the save for the Rangers.
