Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon for Ralph Brinkman, who died Tuesday at Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring. The Rev. Blane Wasnie, O.S.B. will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8PM Friday and 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the church in Avon. St. Benedict’s parish prayers will be at 4:15PM Friday. Arrangements are being entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Avon.

Ralph was born in Farming Township to John & Veronica (Gertken) Brinkman. He served in the National Guard from 1957-1963. He married Sharon M. Braun on October 5, 1963 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Breckinridge, MN. He worked at Franklin Manufacturing from 1956-1963 and then for Smurfit-Stone Container from 1963 until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon and a member of the United Paper Workers International Union. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed fish fry’s with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Sharon of 52 years; children, Ann (Joe) Harren of Cold Spring; John L. (Amy) Brinkman of St. Anna; Laura (Gregory) Sommars of Osakis; Marlene (Larry) Anderson of St. Cloud; Jennifer (Tony) Orbeck of Sartell; Tom (Beverly) Brinkman of St. Joseph; sisters and brothers, Alvina Mies, Frances (Elmer) Winters, Lorraine (Don) Jungles, Cora (Lyle) Daugherty, Werner (Donna) Brinkman, Melvin (Gayle) Brinkman, David (Janet) Brinkman, Diane (Dennis) Heying, Judy Klehr, Doris (Michael) Parenteau, Sandy (Marc) Booth, and sister in law, Mary Brinkman. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nathan, Charlie, Alice, Stephanie, Nolan, Rachel, Mary, Evan, Sam, Jason, Dalton, Fletcher and Duncan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenneth, brothers in law, Ambrose Molitor, Rowloe Cassidy, Anthony Mies, and Delbert Klehr.
