MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The University of Minnesota is announcing several days of programs to increase awareness of racial stereotyping ahead of next month's Vikings-Redskins football game on campus.

University officials have said they're working with the Vikings to keep the Redskins' name from being used when the two teams play at TCF Bank Stadium on Nov. 2. That situation hasn't been resolved yet.

The programs start more than a week before the game and include screening a documentary on American Indian mascots in sports and panel discussions.

A rally is also in the planning stages for game day.

A spokesman for the Vikings didn't immediately return a call Friday. The team is playing on the university campus for two seasons while its new stadium is being built.
