BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) - Officials with Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington say the school's president has been found dead at his home of an apparent gunshot wound.

A report says 58-year-old Jeff A. Nelson was found dead Tuesday. The Washington County sheriff's office is saying only that investigators are not seeking any suspects.

Nelson was picked by the university's board in April to head the nonprofit college.

The university announced Nelson's death with a press release.

The statement says even though some officials only worked with Nelson for a short time, "he re-energized our campus and heightened our aspirations."

The school has 900 students and programs that include massage therapy as well as chiropractic, acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
