Prescribed Burns Scheduled Along State Highways

UNDATED -- Don't be alarmed if you see grass fires along some state highways this week.

Starting Monday, crews will be performing prescribed burns along Highway 23 between Rockville and Richmond, Highway 371 near Fort Ripley and I-94 in Albertville.

The prescribed fires are handled by trained professionals and all roadways will remain open.

The burns are conducted to promote the growth of native grasses and habitat.
