ST. CLOUD - Plans for a St. Cloud Area Aquatic and Community Center are coming together. The St. Cloud City Council will go over preliminary designs on Monday, during their work study session.

The facility could include a lap pool as well as a family swimming pool. They also want to build three gyms, and a multi-use space. They also want to leave room to add a possible future outdoor aquatic area.

The timeline right now is hoping to break ground by this October, with the facility opening in March of 2017.

The total cost is estimated to be about $27 million, with $14 million coming from the half-cent sales tax. The YMCA, which is partnering on the project and will run the facility, is raising the rest of the money.

Among the things the city council is expected to discuss on Monday is how much it will cost you to use the Aquatic and Community Center.
