SARTELL - A prayer service is being held tonight (Wednesday) in memory of Samuel Traut.

The service will be at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Sartell at 6:30 p.m.

Traut, 24, was a Sartell native and was found dead in his home at 1122 12th Street North early Tuesday after firefighters responded to a report of a fire.

Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd says Traut was killed by 35-year-old Ashley Hunter.

Traut is a 2013 NDSU engineering graduate and was active in the campus group “Bison Catholic” and at the Newman Center, next door to the home where we was found dead.

Tom Offerdahl is the business manager at St. Francis Xavier Parish and says all are welcome to attend the prayer service.

"We are called together as a community of believers in support of Sam's family after his sudden and tragic death."

St. Francis Xavier Parish is at 219 2nd Street North in Sartell.
