UNDATED -The forecast is calling for a high of 98 degrees in St. Cloud today (Wednesday).  The record high for the 4th of July is 96 degrees, set in 1988.

Hot and humid conditions will continue across the area through Thursday with highs into the upper 90s to lower 100s today.

Another scorcher lies ahead for Thursday,...but the passage of a a weak cold front will bring a little bit of relief to central Minnesota.

Aside from south central Minnesota...temperatures will be noticeably cooler on Friday with less humidity. A few showers and thunderstorms will dot northern portions of the area today with widely scattered showers and thunderstorms pushing into central portions of the area on Thursday. A better chance of showers and thunderstorms will occur on Friday and Saturday in the wake of the cold front which will also moderate temperatures.
