Police: Tires Slashed, Car Windows Broken in South St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD - While St. Cloud State University students, and their families, were enjoying commencement ceremonies inside the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center on Saturday morning, several of their vehicles were being vandalized.

St. Cloud police say about 25 vehicles had their tires slashed and windows broken in the area from University Drive South to 11th Street South, and between 6th and 7th Avenue South.

The incident happened just before noon on Saturday.

Witnesses followed a suspect and ultimately pinned him to the ground until police arrived. Arrested was 20-year-old Niles Torkkola.

No one was hurt in the incident.
