MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police raided eight homes and seized 15 dogs in a suspected canine fighting operation.

One person was arrested. Officers say they found dog fighting paraphernalia and fight training manuals. Authorities say the dogs, including five puppies, were taken from kennels in Minneapolis and New Hope Wednesday.

Sgt. Lindsay Herron says the dogs, all American pit bull terriers, where chained inside outdoor kennels and did not have water. Most did not have food.

A veterinarian will determine which of the dogs are adoptable.
