Police Say Man’s Stabbing Injuries Were Self-Inflicted

ST. CLOUD — Police say injuries to a man found in downtown St. Cloud were self-inflicted, not from a stabbing as originally thought.

The man was found around 11 a.m. Friday in the alley between the Red Carpet Nightclub and the Press Bar at West St. Germain and 5th Avenue.

When questioned at first, the man said someone else had stabbed him. He later admitted that he had caused the injuries himself.

Police say the injuries are not life-threatening.

The incident caused police to block off part of the downtown area and prompted the St. Cloud Downtown Council to e-mail members asking them to check their surveillance cameras in and around where the man was found.
