PLYMOUTH, Minn. (AP) - Police say an officer fatally shot a man inside an Arby's restaurant in Plymouth after an altercation.

Plymouth Police Chief Michael Goldstein says that officers responded to the Arby's around 8:20 p.m. Thursday after a report of a disturbance inside.

Goldstein says a responding officer "engaged" with a man who was "causing some problems."

He says the encounter lead to a "confrontation," and the officer fatally shot the man. No further details about the nature of the disturbance or the encounter with the officer were immediately available. A representative for the police department couldn't immediately be reached.

It wasn't clear whether the victim had been armed. Police were questioning customers and employees as witnesses. Arby's didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
