WINONA (AP) - Police say money apparently motivated a homicide at a Winona apartment.

Authorities talked more about the fatally shooting of Adam Fort during a news conference Tuesday. Investigators say the two male suspects believed Fort had money at his apartment, but there's no indication the men knew the victim.

Police Chief Paul Bostrack says the two men entered Fort's apartment Sunday afternoon, shot him once in the torso and left with some cash. The suspects fled in a car with Wisconsin license plates. Officials say a woman who was in the room with Fort wasn't harmed and called 911.

Fort reported a break-in at his apartment about a year ago, but officials don't know whether it was connected to Sunday's shooting.
