Police: Man Charged In Boy’s Brooklyn Park Death

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (AP) - A 23-year-old man is charged with second-degree intentional murder in the beating death of his 1-year-old son in Brooklyn Park.

Prosecutors say Reggie Delanie Harper grabbed his son from the child's mother Tuesday, put him on the floor and punched him repeatedly in the chest because he was fussing.

The boy was identified Friday as Kazerion Harper.

Harper is due in court Monday. It's not immediately clear if he has an attorney.

The criminal complaint says the couple's other son, a 3-year-old, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with injuries suspicious of abuse.

Hennepin County prosecutors say the boys' mother had a court order barring Harper from contacting her, but she allowed him back into the house.

Prosecutors filed a petition to terminate the couple's parental rights.
