ALEXANDRIA (AP) - Authorities have arrested an Alexandria man in last week's killing of an Osakis woman who was assaulted after she apparently interrupted a burglary in her home.

Authorities arrested 52-year-old Jeffrey Brooks Friday on suspicion of murder.

Todd County Sheriff Pete Mikkelson says officials received hundreds of calls from all over central Minnesota about possible leads in the case.

Fifty-one-year-old Diane Fortenberry was found dead in her home last Friday by her son. Officials say it appears she stopped at home after lunch, walked in on a burglary and was assaulted.

Preliminary autopsy results show she died of blunt force trauma.

Brooks is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
