Police Investigate Alleged Assault by Bus Driver

CLOQUET (AP) — Cloquet police are investigating allegations that a bus driver assaulted a first-grade student.

The boy, who attends Churchill Elementary, did not require medical attention. Police say a concerned parent notified the department of Thursday's alleged incident and officers notified the boy's parents about the allegations.

Officers are interviewing the student and potential witnesses. The city attorney will then consider possible charges.

Police said the Cloquet Transit Bus Company has dismissed the bus driver and that the bus company and the Cloquet School District are cooperating in the investigation.
