MAPLEWOOD (AP) - Authorities have identified a 31-year-old Maplewood man who was killed in an apparent home invasion.

Maplewood police believe a male suspect who knew Justin Niles Wright broke into his home shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday and confronted him before firing one shot. Wright was shot in his upper body and pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers discovered a handgun in the driveway of a nearby home and are trying to determine whether it's connected to the shooting.

Neighbors say Wright had recently won custody of his two young daughters. They weren't in the home during the shooting.
