Minnesota NewsBRAINERD (AP) – Brainerd police say a burglary suspect may have been sleeping on the job.

Officers got a call around 11 a.m. Wednesday about a burglary. The person who reported the crime told police a man was asleep or passed out in the home.

Police say a 29-year-old man was found asleep on the floor.

Police allege he broke a window to get in the house and was trying to steal copper pipes.

The house is being renovated and no one was home.

The man is in the Crow Wing County Jail awaiting charges.
