Police at Scene of Apparent Standoff in Fridley

FRIDLEY, Minn. (AP) - Police have evacuated an apartment building in Fridley because of an apparent standoff.

Reports says that traffic in both directions on East River Road, just north of Interstate 694, has been shut down while police investigate.

Evacuated resident Wendy Holland told the station that she heard a police dog breathing heavily outside her apartment, and heard officers yelling "We know you're in there and we know you're armed."

Reports say that police are saying there's one suspect and one hostage, and that the situation is considered dangerous.

Police aren't providing further details.
