ST. PAUL - St. Paul police have arrested a man suspected of robbing a 76-year-old good Samaritan.

Police announced the arrest Saturday. Authorities have not identified the suspect or said how they were led to him.

Police say the suspect approached the victim at a St. Paul gas station Thursday night. The man said he was new in town and had no money, and asked for a ride.

About five blocks later, the suspect asked to be dropped off. Police say when the victim went outside to open the man's door, he was attacked from behind by the suspect.

A police spokesman says the suspect knocked the victim down and ripped off the man's jacket, which contained his wallet and cellphone. The victim broke his leg and wrist.
