Police: Armed Robbery Suspect Shoots at Officers

Police Car LightsNORTHFIELD  (AP) – Police are looking for a gunman who they say robbed a Northfield hotel and fired at officers.

There are no reports of injuries.

Authorities say the suspect was wearing a black ski mask and carrying a handgun when he robbed the America’s Best Value Inn about 3 a.m. Monday.

Responding officers located a getaway vehicle not far from the motel. Officers say the suspect fired at police as he fled. A female passenger in the vehicle was arrested.

Northfield Police Chief Charles Walerius says dozens of officers and sheriff’s deputies are searching for the suspect.
