ST. PAUL (AP) - A 90-year-old Maplewood man is accused of fatally shooting his oldest son after authorities say the two argued over watching television.

Kenneth Bowser was charged Monday in Ramsey County with second-degree murder.

Bowser called police shortly after 7:40 p.m. Saturday to report he had shot his son with a pistol. Police arrived and found 65-year-old Larry Bowser dead at the scene. He had been shot once.

Officers arrested Kenneth Bowser at the home without incident.

Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell says the two had a dispute over where to watch TV.

Larry Bowser had told neighbors that his father was suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Kenneth Bowser is due in court Tuesday. Online court records do not list a defense attorney who could comment.
