WAITE PARK -- After months of planning, a plan has been constructed as to what will be done to River's Edge Park in Waite Park.

A master plan was brought before the city council to adopt during tonight's (Monday) meeting.

Public Works Director Bill Schluenz says the Waite Park Park Board decided to keep the existing baseball fields as well as include other amenities.

The city plans to use half-cent sales tax dollars, which was passed during last months elections, to help with the park renovations.

Renovations to the park will be done in phases and Schluenz says it's up to the Park Board to decide what takes priority.

Schluenz says it may be 2017 before any shovels hit the dirt.
