Plane Lands on Interstate 35

MINNEAPOLIS -- Authorities are investigating why a small plane made an emergency landing on an interstate just north of the Twin Cities.

A single-engine plane landed in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Wyoming in Chisago County late Friday. Authorities were forced to close interstate in the area. Police said the pilot sustained minor injuries but no one else was hurt.

A Minnesota State Patrol spokesman says it's unclear whether the plane crashed or made an emergency landing.

Records show the plane was registered in 2007 to an Isanti man, who is now 79 years old.
