ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) - Rochester police say a pit bull attacked a 2-year-old boy, biting him on the face and neck.

The boy was playing at a Rochester park Sunday night with his mother when the dog grabbed him by the face.

Police say the attack lasted about five minutes. The boy underwent surgery at a Rochester hospital, where he is recovering.

Police say the dog's owners were present, and that the dog lives in the same household as the child.

Reports say the dog is being quarantined at the Rochester Animal Shelter.
