BRAINERD (AP) - A Brainerd man is facing felony charges after a pipe bomb was discovered in a foreclosed home during a search of the residence.

A utility company asked authorities to check the house because the power had been turned on illegally. Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl says when officers went to the house Monday, they saw drug paraphernalia through the window. Officers returned with a search warrant and found the bomb fashioned from a flashlight and explosive powder. A bomb technician defused it and no one was injured.

Forty-seven-year-old Scott Jackson is charged with four felonies, including possession of an explosive device. A phone number found for Jackson was disconnected.
