ST. CLOUD -- There are plenty of historic places around St. Cloud and this year marks a special event, the 100 year anniversary of Pioneer Place.

Purchased fifteen years ago by Dan Barth and his brother, they never knew their place of business would be hitting an historic day like this.

"When it dawned on us that it was going to be 100 years old this year, we thought what could we do to celebrate such an historic anniversary," says Barth. "So we said lets have a big street dance."

With food, beer and live music throughout the night, 5th Avenue South has become the place to be.

While Pioneer Place may be known for its historic 100 year old urinal inside, St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis helped give Pioneer Place another reason to be remembered.

"I Dave Kleis the mayor of St. Cloud here by proclaim today Pioneer Place on 5th day," announced Mayor Kleis.

Dan Barth says he is so thankful to have the city behind him after all these years and said that he could never pull off an event like this without their help.

"I can't say enough about the city of St. Cloud," says Barth. "They came out and did everything they could to help get this event up."

And as far looking to the future Barth says if all goes well the celebration on 5th Avenue may become a yearly event.
