PET PATROL: Doris, Chance Hope for New Homes in the New Year

Tri-County Humane Society

Meet Doris the Gecko and Chance the Yellow Lab mix.  They’re looking for forever homes for 2013 and beyond.

Doris the Gecko
Tri-County Humane Society

Doris is a 5 year old leopard gecko. The native habitat of the leopard gecko is the rocky, dry grassland and desert regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Iran. These geckos feed on crickets, wax worms, mealworms, super worms, and other insects.

Doris is a very social Gecko and is used to being handled.

A leopard gecko can live between 10 and 20 years in the wild, but in captivity the average lifespan is only between 8 and 10 years, with many not living over 2 years due to improper care. Be sure to arm yourself with plenty of good information about reptiles before becoming an owner for the first time.

Chance the yellow lab mix
Tri-County Humane Society

Chance is a handsome 1 year old Yellow Lab mix.

This loyal retriever has immense potential, but he needs to find an owner who has plenty of time and energy to keep up with his enthusiasm. Our knowledgeable staff is here to talk you through any questions you have.

Chance’s interests include car rides, swimming, hours of “Frisbee fetch” and snuggling as though he is a lap-dog!

He is neutered, knows how to sit, and has a good start on house training.

Chance will make a wonderful companion for an experienced dog owner.

Check out all the animals available for adoption by going to the Tri-County Humane Society’s website or Facebook page. Or visit them at 735 8th Street Northeast in St. Cloud. They’re open Monday through Thursdays Noon to 6; Fridays noon to 8; Saturdays 11 to 5; and Sundays Noon to 5.
