The New Orleans Pelicans started strong and finished stronger in a 110-88 win over the Timberwolves in New Orleans Sunday. The Wolves fall to 16-57 with the loss.

The Pelicans jumped out to a 7-0 lead out of the blocks and built the lead to 25-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Wolves bounced back in the second quarter and cut the New Orleans lead to two at 41-39 but could not fill the gap completely. The Pelicans held a comfortable lead for the rest of the game, and outscored Minnesota 33-18 in the fourth quarter.

The Wolves host Utah on Monday night at Target Center (WJON, 6:30).
