Pedestrian Killed By Freight Train In Coon Rapids
COON RAPIDS (AP) — Coon Rapids police say a pedestrian walking along railroad tracks has been struck and killed by a train.
Police say the accident happened about noon Sunday near Northdale Boulevard. No other details were provided.
A spokeswoman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway says an eastbound BNSF train struck a person walking on the railroad tracks at a spot that was not designated for pedestrians.
Anoka County Sheriff's Office and railroad personnel responded to the scene.
