ROGERS (AP) - Authorities in the Twin Cities area say a pedestrian has been struck and killed by a driver who may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

The victim was a California truck driver in his 40s. He was walking along a frontage road near I-94 in Rogers on Saturday afternoon when he was struck.

The 21-year-old driver told police he may have nodded off while driving.

Police say they don't think drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. They took the driver into custody for further testing.

Rogers is about 25 miles northwest of Minneapolis.
