ST. CLOUD - The Peace Corps is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year.  The organization that was created by President John F. Kennedy to promote world peace and friendship is still going strong.

Today (Thursday) recruiters for the Peace Corps are at St. Cloud State University looking for their next group of world ambassadors.  Janice McInerney says they're doing good work all around the globe.

Joining the Peace Corps is no small commitment, after you have three months of training, you serve 24 months in your assigned country.  A four-year degree is required, and the application process takes 9-12 months.
