Paynesville Man Sentenced to Prison For Sexually Abusing Boy

ST. CLOUD -- A Stearns County judge has sentenced a Paynesville man to 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a young boy.

Twenty-four-year-old Cody Kelso pleaded guilty to first degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13-years-old.  Kelso pleaded guilty in February to forcing a young boy to perform a sex act on him.

A man called authorities in the spring of 2016 to report that Kelso admitted to the abuse.

According to the criminal complaint, Kelso also admitted to investigators he sexually abused the six-year-old boy at a Paynesville home.

As part of his sentence, Kelso must also register as a predatory offender.
