Paynesville Man Hurt in Motorcycle Crash

AVON TOWNSHIP -- A Paynesville man was hurt in a motorcycle crash shortly after 12:30 a.m. today (Saturday).

Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner says the incident happened at 16076 Norway Road in Avon Township east of the city of Avon.

Twenty two-year-old Joshua Schmitt of Paynesville was riding his motorcycle westbound on Norway Road when he missed the curve and drove off the roadway. Schmitt fell off the motorcycle and struck a road sign.

He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with serious injuries.
