ST. LOUIS PARK (AP) -  ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota State Patrol says the mother driving a car in which five children became trapped under water did not have a valid driver's license.

Marion Guerrido's car left a ramp at Highways 100 and 7 Thursday morning, traveled down a slope and into a storm water pond. Guerrido made it out of the car. The children did not. Two of the children have died, three remain hospitalized.

The State Patrol says Guerrido had a driver's permit, but no license. Her permit is considered invalid because she did not have a licensed driver with her.

The State Patrol says the investigation will likely take several weeks.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Department of Transportation's list of 2014 construction projects includes the interchange near where the accident occurred.
