FOLEY -- Parking issues have raised concerns for one downtown Foley business.

The Foley American Legion has been taking a hit financially due to the fact customers can't park in front of their building.

At last (Tuesday) night's Foley City Council meeting, Legion spokesman Dwayne Walter says he understands the street is public property, but the Legion's costumers sometimes have to walk far to get to the business.

Currently downtown parking, where the legion is located, is open to anyone.

During tonight's city council meeting, Walter and the council addressed some suggestions that may help the Legion. Ideas included "business parking only" signs, or a private parking lot.

Walter says he will go through the steps to make that private lot happen, if that is the route they choose to go.

The Legion hopes to solve this issues as soon as possible.
