Man Convicted of Killing Police Officer Wants His Money Returned

The man convicted of killing a Mendota Heights police officer wants the cash that was taken from him at the time of his arrest. Attorneys for Brian Fitch have filed a motion in Dakota County seeking the return of nearly $3,000 that was found in his pants when he was taken into custody in St. Paul last July.

A man is accused of routinely leaving his young sons for long stretches of time in a filthy home near Princeton. Thirty-two-year-old Michael Gunderson is charged with two counts of felony child neglect and one count of felony drug possession in Sherburne County.

House Oks Bill Setting Lower Wage for Tipped Workers

The Minnesota House has passed a bill allowing employers to pay tipped staff a lower hourly wage if tips bring their pay above $12 an hour. The move comes just a year after the first minimum wage increase in nearly a decade bumping the state's floor wage up to $9.50 an hour by 2016.
