ST. CLOUD -- Over 700 people are expected to attend a fun evening at the Magic Moments Gala tonight (Friday) at the River's Edge Convention Center.

The event is the biggest annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota and features a gourmet meal, live auctions, and entertainment by magician Tim Gabrielson.

The proceeds from the event go to the programs offered by Big Brothers Big Sisters to kids in the area who are facing adversity.

Shannon Giffin of Big Brothers Big Sisters says the night will give "bigs" and "littles" a chance to share their stories about how the organization has benefited them.

"I just love hearing the match stories," Giffin says. "It's just so wonderful to hear about the positive impacts of mentoring."

The gala sold out last month and Giffin says she appreciates all of the support shown by the local community.

"We couldn't make this event be successful without that support," Giffin says. "We're very grateful that we're going to have such a great turnout and so many wonderful supporters."

Big Brothers Big Sisters is always looking for more help from volunteers and nearly 100 children in central Minnesota are currently waiting for their mentor.
