Organic Farming Continues to Grow in Popularity [AUDIO]

ST. CLOUD - Organic farmers are spending the next few days learning more about the growing industry in downtown St. Cloud. The annual Organic Conference starts today (Thursday) with workshops, and continues through Saturday.

Organizer Meg Moynihan is from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. She says there's a high demand for more people to get into producing organic foods.

Moynihan says central Minnesota is a leader in the industry.

The biggest organic crops in Minnesota are wheat, soybeans, hay and soybeans.

Moynihan says there are about 700 certified organic farms in Minnesota. About 500 to 600 people are expected to attend the three-day conference.
