Police say a vehicle driven by 86-year-old Herbert Herold of St. Cloud was driving west on University Drive towards the intersection. A second vehicle driven by 44-year-old Mohamed Ahmed of Waite Park was driving east on University Drive approaching the same intersection.

Herold attempted to go through the intersection on a green light. Ahmed entered the intersection on a green light for a left turn, but failed to yield to Herold's right of way and hit his vehicle.

Herold was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Ahmed was not hurt and was cited for failure to yield right of way.
