One Survivor Of Fatal Northfield Crash Improving
NORTHFIELD, (AP) - One of the college students who survived a highway crash that killed three in Minnesota is improving at a Twin Cities hospital.
Authorities say 20-year-old William Sparks, of Evanston, Ill., was driving the SUV that slid into the path of a semi on Highway 3 near Northfield Friday. Sparks is in satisfactory condition at Hennepin County Medical Center. Another student who survived, 19-year-old Conor Eckert, of Seattle, remains in critical condition.
The Minnesota State Patrol says neither alcohol or excessive speed appear to be factors in a crash that killed 20-year-old James Adams, 20, of St. Paul, 21-year-old Paxton Harvieux, of Stillwater, and 20-year-old Michael Goodgame, of Westport, Conn.
The five Carleton College students were members of one of the country's top Ultimate Frisbee teams.
