ELK RIVER - Three vehicles were involved in a chain reaction crash on Highway 10 near Elk River. The State Patrol says the incident happened at about 6:20 p.m. this (Monday) evening.

A vehicle driven by 27-year-old Kevin Sutton of Coon Rapids, and another vehicle driven by 43-year-old Mark Phillips of Big Lake, were both traveling west on Highway 10. They were struck from behind by a third vehicle driven by 66-year-old Steven Thornton of Elk River. Thornton's vehicle also struck a sign, went airborn over an embankment, and landed in the middle of the intersection.

Sutton suffered non life-threatening injuries. Phillips and Thornton were not hurt.
