One Person Dead and One Person Hurt in Crash Near Westport

WESTPORT -- One person has died and another person was taken to the hospital after a broadside crash.

The State Patrol says it happened Saturday shortly after 5:30 p.m. near Westport.

Twenty-year-old Dominic Marthaler, of Sauk Centre, was driving southbound on 110th Avenue on Highway 28 in Westport. 70-year-old Susan Kuseske, of Villard, was driving eastbound on Highway 28 at the same location.

Marthaler failed to yield the right of way, pulled out into the intersection and was broadsided by Kuseske.

Kuseske was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Kuseske's passenger 71-year-old Larry Kuseske, of Villard, was taken to Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood, where he died.

Marthaler had no apparent injury. The State Patrol says no alcohol was detected.
