One Man Dies in St. Paul House Fire; 8 Escape
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - One man has died in a house fire in St. Paul, while eight other people escaped.
The fire was reported in a home in the Frogtown neighborhood between 7:30 and 8 a.m. Sunday. Fire officials say a guest sleeping in the basement was unable to escape.
Fire Marshal Steve Zaccard says the victim is a man in his 30s.
Eight other people made it out safely.
Zaccard says all the home's smoke detectors were working. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
