HOPKINS, Minn. (AP) - One person has died in an outbreak of Legionnaire's disease in the Minneapolis suburb of Hopkins.

The Minnesota Health Department announced the death Wednesday. A department official said the person was "elderly" but declined to give age or gender.

The number of cases in the Hopkins outbreak is up to 14 since it began in early September. The health department is trying to determine the source of the disease, and says it expects more cases because the bacteria can incubate for up to 10 days.

Legionnaires' can cause pneumonia-like symptoms, including cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headaches and fever. The disease is not spread person-to-person. Minnesota typically has 50 to 60 cases a year, and 60 cases have been reported statewide this year.
